This film was a commission from the PRS Foundation, profiling Grime artists from Birmingham. Myself and co-director Max Gabbay devised a specific shooting style to accurately reflect the culture being portrayed. We used mainly handheld wide angles and Super 8 film, as well as photographic elements.

 

FOOD VS. PLANET

Role: Editor

Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall is one of the few individuals who truly comprehends the intricacies of the food industry. With decades of experience spanning from farm to table, including encounters with both the good and the bad aspects such as factory farming and supermarkets. We need someone who can effectively convey the truth and advocate for what is right—for the people and the planet. Imagine if we had transparent food systems? Hugh tells urges us to drag these things into the public consciousness, start a proper debate and go from there.

We had full access to do a profile piece on the band ‘LIFE’ as they played in Brighton. They tell us about their origins and what the festival means to them. The shooting style and edit is fast-paced, matching their music, with a VHS look to encompass the band’s energy.
